This is what I read before running this morning, via Runner’s World Monday Motivation:
I am training for the 2013 Eugene Half Marathon. The Eugene Half Marathon is stage one as I prepare for the 2013 Seattle Marathon. It is not easy, and getting out of bed is the biggest challenge. Once I have the running shoes on and head out the door I have no problems.
But when the weather is bad I have a lot of trouble getting started. It was cold and overcast today. When I began my run it was 30 degrees.
This marathon is a Bucket List item. But I hate, hate hate getting started when it is cold outside. Am I crazy? Why am I doing something that I have to force myself to do? Once I start running I warm up fairly quickly, and I feel pretty good AFTER the run. But getting started is definitely the hardest part.
I know exactly how you feel.
Thanks! It’s good to know I’m not alone : )
